Japanese fashion brand Issey Miyake has one boutique in Hong Kong, located within Harbour City’s Ocean Centre (3-27 Canton Road).
At Harbour City, you can also find the company’s Pleats Please Issey Miyake concept boutique (Shop 306A, Level 3, Ocean Terminal) and Bao Bao Issey Miyake bag store (Shop 117A, Level 1, Ocean Center).
Created by Japanese fashion designer Issey Miyake in 1971, the brand is known for opening up new directions for modern fashion through research, experimentation, and development, reimagining the relationship between the human body and clothing.
Over the years, Issey Miyake has created several now iconic fashion styles, including the company’s original pleated pieces (in 1989), which were later developed into the Pleats Please Issey Miyake line.
Issey Miyake is the company’s main collection line, and further subdivided into Issey Miyake Men (since 1978) and Issey Miyake Women (since 1971) collections.
Although the founder, fashion designer Issey Miyake, retired from the fashion industry in 1997, he still oversees the overall direction of all lines created by his company.
