Gastropub Mariners’ Rest operates within Hullett House hotel in Hong Kong, at 2A Canton Road. (UPDATE 2022: THE OUTLET HAS CLOSED)
Mariners’ Rest, serving modern British pub fare and beers on tap, is located on the historical Marine Police Headquarters building, at premises that have housed a drinking place for visiting seamen and working policemen for more than 100 years.
The restaurant guests have the ability, if they dare, to visit and drink in the building’s original jail cells that have historically held many famous European & Chinese pirates and unruly sailors.
For food, you can choose from a full gastropub menu, featuring traditional and exciting dishes with traditional English flavors, made with carefully-chosen meats and cheese from smaller Britain-based producers.
Mariners’ Rest, with a dinner capacity for 40 customers, also offers a wide range of drinks to accompany the meals and relaxed afternoons of watching sporting events with friends, or in the evenings while enjoying snacks and beer on tap.
