There are two Plat du Jour French bistro restaurants in Hong Kong, one at Pacific Place mall (88 Queensway) and another within Quarry Bay (21 Hoi Wan Street).
Both locations serve a range of authentic French delicacies and classic comfort dishes throughout the day.
Of the two bistros, Plat du Jour at Pacific Place is more spacious, a 160-seat restaurant offering all-day dining with quintessentially French menu.
Plat du Jour Pacific Place, which opened its doors in 2016, located on the lower level of the mall, features a spacious bar, an indoor terrace, a main dining area, as well as a deli counter, catering to a wide variety of customers.
Plat du Jour Taikoo Plaza, meanwhile, open since 2013, has seating within a Parisian-style bistro decor for 60 customers to enjoy their French regional cuisine menu.
Favorites among the menu’s items on both places are classic bistro dishes, such as steak tartare, boeuf bourguignon, moules marinières, côte de porc, and tarte tatin. In keeping with the name of the restaurants (“Dish of the Day” in English), the menus also feature daily changing specials.
Exclusive to the Pacific Place outlet, you can also experience Plat du Jour’s afternoon tea, “Le Thè”. The set, served with coffee or tea, includes savoury bites such as crab cocktail and croque monsieur, accompanied by classic French sweets such as chocolate mousse, macarons, and raspberry cake.
Outside the Pacific Place bistro, there is an original vintage French Citroën truck that has been converted into a deli offering coffee, croissants, and a variety of snacks for a quick bite.
